![]() NOTATION: Preparing music for a live performance or recording session is serious business. Mistakes cost time and money. In a large ensemble, the penalty can be hundreds of dollars worth of time wasted trying to correct inaccurate parts. It is worth the expense to have your scores professionally copied. I use both Finale and Sibelius, and have years of experience as a copyist and engraver. in addition to preparing music for recordings and live performance, I have also done engraving for music publishers. If your project is quite large, or has a very tight deadline, may I recommend RPM Seattle, a fine music prep firm that I subcontract for on feature film projects. With a large staff, this firm can turn around a great volume of music in short order. For the smaller jobs, an individual copyist/engraver such as myself can handle the workload and save you money. MUSIC TRANSCRIPTION: It is common for non-reading composers to seek out the help of a transcriptionist to convert their music into sheet-music form. I am as fast as anyone at this, and the end result is a clean, readable piece of music, ready for publishing or copyright submission. I have experience with everything from lead sheets to full ensemble transcriptions. |
